Rock of Ages (Edinburgh)

Rock of Ages (Edinburgh) Theatre breaks

About the show

The rebellious lifestyle of the rockers and rollers on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip is immortalised in this fantastic jukebox musical. Classic rock songs are woven into a ‘rags to riches’ story with more 1980s rock attitude than Mötley Crüe and more ballad power than Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’. You will hear both and many more as the show follows the highs and lows of Drew Boley, an aspiring rock star, and Sherrie Christian, an aspiring actor.

As Drew and Sherrie chase their dreams down the gold paved strip of Sunset Boulevard, their tales intertwine with a number of other riotous characters, including Stacee Jaxx, the rock legend, and Dennis Dupree, a veteran club owner. As developers move in to demolish the strip, the fate of the whole history making music utopia hangs by a thread and rock music must rise to the challenge in order to be its own saviour.
